MicroLink offers fully accredited degree programs in three fields in both the regular and extension division. The degree programs are offered in the fields of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Accounting and Finance.

Degree Programs

Program Objectives
  • To provide a sound base in computer science and in problem-solving skills.
  • To provide skills in the stat-of-the art of ICT tools.
  • To lay a strong foundation for advanced study in computer science.
Graduate Profile Graduates are expected to:
  • Design, develop and operate, and maintain computer embedded systems.
  • Operate troubleshoot and maintain electrical/electronics devices.
  • Assist and participate in research activities.
Admission Requirement
  • Successful completion of pre-university program according to the new education policy
  • Students who completed level four and COC certified and passed entrance examination of the College
  • Diploma/Degree holders or
  • At least completion of one semester at an accredited higher institution for degree program.
Duration of study
  • Five years for regular students.
  • Six years for extension students.
Degree Nomenclature Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering

In relation to the objective conditions of the country and to meet the ever-increasing demand for skilled ICT professionals, the Department of Computer Science ceased the diploma programs & launched B.Sc. Degree program in Computer Science in 2005/2006. The program is designed for offering in four years in line with the country's new education policy after the completion of TVET level IV or pre-university program.

Bsc Program Objectives

Bsc Graduate Profile Graduates are expected to:
  • Demonstrate intellectual competency and transferable knowledge and skills and articulate them effectively.
  • Design, develop and maintain enterprise level application programs.
  • Design, develop and administer enterprise level databases.
  • Design and develop Websites / Web applications.
  • Design and develop mobile applications.
  • Install networks and perform simple maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist and participate in research activities.

Degree Nomenclature Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Program Objectives   The Accounting and finance curriculum is a career-laddered, competency-based program that utilizes an integrated systems approach to learning about accounting and finance. It integrates accounting and finance with information systems. The objective of the Department is generally to produce highly qualified accounting and finance professionals that are equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge of accounting, auditing and financial planning and control methods. The program includes intensive training in Accounting and Finance courses with the aim to familiarize students with accounting packages. The specific aims of the program are:
  • To equip graduates with basic accounting and financial skills.
  • Train individuals who will assume different managerial posts in various public and private as well as non government organizations.
  • To establish linkage programs with different stakeholders from which the program will be able to tap resources and share experiences
  • To produce graduates who will be the major provider of consultancy services to the public
  • To produce graduates who will prepare tax reports in line with the concerned government authority regulations.
  • To train individuals who will be capable of advising corporate managers.
  • To produce graduates who can carry out research work in the field of accounting and finance.
Graduate Profile          After the successful completion of the degree program in Accounting and Finance, the   graduate   will be able to:
  • design and run systems of modern accounting for all types of organizational needs that begin with identifying, measuring and communicating economic information for decision making and informed judgments;
  • Perform the tasks of financial planning and identifying suitable sources of finance for the operations of the businesses.
  • Make analyses of the financial conditions of the business establishments as well as propose and take decisions using the accounting data and reports
  • Identify the financial sources of organizations, design techniques for the efficient utilization of financial resources and for controlling public expenditure, employing cost management and analysis concepts.
  • Prepare different types of budgets, including capital and recurrent budgets, and build a system for performance-based budgeting and performance evaluation.
  • Use a computerized accounting system to   maintain financial records and prepare reports on timely bases.
  • Conduct researches, organize seminars and develop case studies on issues related accounting and finance.
  • Perform tax accounting thereby facilitating the collection, assessment, and enforcement.
  • work with efficient and effective modern tools and ICT in preparing budgets and forecasts, financial statement and managerial information to provide the management with financial information for decision-making purposes;
  • Exhibit high level of ethical standards in all levels of their engagements.
